Discussion on School Readiness Activities

Why do we need to be concerned about school readiness? What are the prerequisite skills and competencies that children need to thrive at school? Can these maximize their learning potential?

At present, all parents want to make a successful start to school for their child, but many parents are unsure as to how they can do this. Additionally, there is lack of understanding among ECE educators as well about how to make children ready for the school.

We bring to you all, this discussion forum as an unique platform to come together and participate, discuss, comment, share ideas and much more!

Thank you everyone for your participation in this discussion. This was a good start. I am wondering if you would like to focus on school readiness for the discussion in November or do you have suggestions for other topics.
Your feedback will be helpful to us.

Rahul, this is a good question. We would first introduce sounds that begin with "k". Once children become familiar with this sound, we will introduce words with "ka" but also help the children to recognize that the "ka" sound begins with "k".

we have started a discussion during last workshop on how to learn starting sound. what my question was that if i work with ' K se kal' is fine, again i am teaching 'Ka se Kaam', isn't it confusion for the child? how would i transit from k to Ka?

Rahul, do you mean the format we shared in the workshop on school readiness? I am not sure what you mean by the ELDS format.
