What is Artist Assistance Scheme Odisha?

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana (MMKSJ) 2024 for poor and aged artistes in the state. About 50,000 artists will benefit under this scheme. The government has decided to provide Rs 1,200 per month as artist assistance. The benefit of this scheme is for all section of the state and a male artist can avail the benefit of this scheme after attaining the age of 50 years. Women artistes can avail the benefits of this scheme after attaining the age of 40 years. This scheme has been started to preserve the culture and heritage of the state.

Now the assistance amount has been increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 1200 and the state government will now provide the allowance to 50,000 beneficiaries as against 4,000 earlier.
