Mukhyamantri Covid Pariwar Arthik Sahayata Yojana 2024 was started by the Social Welfare Department of Delhi on 22 June 2021. Through this scheme, financial assistance will be provided by the government to all those citizens whose family members died due to coronavirus infection. Through this scheme, financial assistance of ₹ 50000 will be provided to all eligible citizens. Apart from this, ₹ 2500 per month will also be provided as a pension to all eligible beneficiaries. There is no income criteria set by the government to avail the benefits of this scheme. Only permanent residents of Delhi can avail the benefits of this scheme.

  • The benefit of Mukhyamantri Covid Pariwar Arthik Sahayata Yojana 2024 will be provided only if the deceased member of the family is income-earning. The government will also consider nominating affected family members as civil defence volunteers.

Working system of Mukhyamantri Covid Pariwar Arthik Sahayata Yojana

  • Information related to deaths due to coronavirus will be shared by the Health Department with the Social Welfare Department.
  • This information will be sent through the Divisional Commissioner, Headquarters Health Department, to the SDM of the area for verification of the cases falling under the concerned jurisdiction.
  • After this, the representative of the utility sub-division level will visit the beneficiary’s house.
  • A representative will be appointed by the SDM through digital medium to visit the house.
  • The representative will also assist in submitting details in the applications.
  • All relevant details will be collected by the representative while visiting.
  • While visiting the representative will verify the details given in the application form.
  • The representative will also be responsible for collecting all the documents.
  • The report of all verified applications will be submitted by the SDM field staff within five working days.
  • After this, the report will be sent to the District Social Welfare Officer of the Social Welfare Department for approval through the online district portal.
  • The application can be accepted or rejected by the SDM within 12 days from the date of application.
  • After this, the District Social Welfare Officer of the Social Welfare Department will scrutinize the documents submitted as per the eligibility criteria and accept the request.
  • The recommendation will be processed for release of payment to Social Welfare Headquarters within 3 days of receiving the recommendation.
  • The financial assistance request under this scheme will be accepted or rejected within a maximum time limit of 15 days.
  • If the application is rejected then in this case the SDM will provide online information to the DM along with the reason for the rejected cases.
  • Applications can be appealed to the District Magistrate for reconsideration.
  • The District Magistrate will dispose of the appeal based on the standard operating procedure developed by the Social Welfare Department.

In Case of Death of Husband

In case of death of the earning husband, financial assistance of Rs 2500 per month will be provided to the wife for her lifetime. Apart from this, the wife can also avail the benefit of Widow Pension Scheme.

In case of wife’s death

If the earning wife dies, then in this situation the husband will be provided financial assistance of Rs 2500 for the whole life.

In case of death of parents (single)

If only one of the parents was alive and he dies due to coronavirus infection, then in this situation each child will be given financial assistance of ₹ 2500 till the age of 25 years through the Chief Minister Covid-19 Family Financial Assistance Scheme. Will be provided.

In case of death of both parents

In case of death of both the parents, financial assistance of Rs 2500 should be provided to each child. This financial assistance will be provided to them till the age of 25 years. (The benefit of this scheme can be availed even if one of the parents dies due to coronavirus variant and the other one dies due to some other reason) If the deceased does not have children, then in this situation This financial assistance will be provided to the parents of the deceased and they can also avail the benefits of the Old Age Pension Scheme.

In case of death of son or daughter

If the earning son or daughter dies, their parents will be provided financial assistance of Rs 2500 throughout their life. Apart from this, parents can also get the benefit of Old Age Pension Scheme.

In case of death of brother or sister

If the earning brother or sister dies, financial assistance of ₹ 2500 will be provided to the dependent brother or sister throughout his life. This financial assistance will be provided only if the dependent brother or sister is mentally or physically handicapped. If the husband or wife of the deceased is receiving the benefit of this scheme, then the dependent brother or sister will not be provided the benefit of the Chief Minister Covid-19 Family Financial Assistance Scheme.
